Sysix, an Oak Brook, Ill., Solution provider that was recently deauthorized by Hewlett-Packard, gained authorization as a Sun Microsystems Strategic iForce partner Tuesday.
The iForce designation allows Sysix to sell Sun solutions on a nationwide basis, said John Sheaffer, Sysix CEO. Previously, Sysix was authorized to sell Sun only in the New York area, San Francisco and Chicago.
"Our second-quarter Sun business was up about 193 percent over the same period a year ago," Sheaffer said. "With the iForce authorization, we expect our Sun business to increase four times over what it was last year."
Since Sysix, formerly a Platinum HP partner, parted ways with the vendor, it has been strengthening its relationships with Sun, IBM and EMC, among other vendors, Sheaffer said.
